“Loyalty to petrified opinion never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul ” ~ Mark Twain
My problem with opinions is that i can’t seem to have any meaningful long term relationship with one. Just when i begin to feel that i have found the perfect opinion, it deserts me and the whole process of hunting around for a fresh one begins anew! The in-between-opinions-stage can be particularly painful during friendly discussion s and cocktail-conversations. Others would be quite aghast if you mentioned that these days you are ‘without an opinion.’ So to retain your dignity sometimes you have to fabricate one and that too with an air of conviction and well founded knowledge. At times you can even get carried away with your utterance and become quite fond of it.
In light of the above i was naturally happy to find the quote below…
“Your opinion is your opinion, your perception is your perception–do not confuse them with “facts” or “truth”. Wars have been fought and millions have been killed because of the inability of men to understand the idea that EVERYBODY has a different viewpoint.”
How brilliant was that…finally i had an opinion that could last and last, that did not require to be changed ever! Four little words ~ “to each his own” ~ and your opinion search is over, forever!
